I'm going to do just that. This is ridiculous.

I found a DivX file at another source, guyzilla. Once I'm sure it's a full and complete file of the movie (haven't viewed it yet), I'd be happy to take the first crack at uploading it if that'll make things easier on you. :)

That would be nice. 700MB DIVX file , huh? Sounds like what they took out of here. Haven't had a chance to e-mail the Archive yet to find out why it was taken down. I've been busy moving. They may have taken it down by mistake. Meantime, check the credits on the file. If it was sourced from the Retromedia edition, there will be a copyright notice, and you won't be able to upload it. I'm telling you this so you don't go to all the hassle for nothing. If you see the notice, let me know and I'll hunt up my copy and give it another try. If I do it it may take a while because I have a lot of stuff to dig through.

Last night I e-mailed info@archive.org about this and nobody's answered me yet. If I don't hear anything after a few days I'll see about putting it back up. I'm going to check the credits (opening and closing) for a notice first and if I don't see a one, it WILL be back, one way or the other. No notice, no copyright.

The DivX I have is taken from an old video tape. There are no closing credits on it, and the opening credits appear to have no copyright notice. (There is one tiny line of VHS fuzz that is so illegible that it might be anything, but it's smaller than all the other credits.)

Anyhow, as far as I'm concerned, if VideoCellar cleared it, it's PD.

I'll try uploading in the next few days. (Can't hurt to have multiple copies.)

Thanks a lot. We'll see how yours goes, Hey, maybe the one you found was taken from my upload here. What the heck, that's what I put it up here for. Haven't heard from staff yet about this but I'm not going to hold my breath. I think this happened to k-otic a few times. He's probably put up more stuff than anybody.
